Thanksgiving Fun

I'm so sad that this past weekend is over. It was quite wonderful!! We spent time with family and friends, did a little bit of shopping, and just relaxed! It was glorious!

Thursday morning we headed over to Collin's parent's house early to watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I helped his mom out in the kitchen a little bit and made the mashed potatoes for dinner. Our friend Megan joined us for dinner and we had a delightful time. Later that evening we went to my parents house to visit and we played Quelf. So. Much. Fun. We laughed so, so hard!

A great way to start Thanksgiving off. Relaxing in bed together before getting up. =)

Day 22 of #novemberthankful Today and everyday I am thankful to be able to call this man my husband. He is an amazing and godly man and he treats me like a princess. I love him dearly and God blessed me immensely with this wonderful man!

Friday I woke up early (though not as early as some!) to meet Megan and our friend Crystal at 6am for shopping. We made our first stop at JC Penney, then on to Belk. Next we got breakfast at Chick-Fil-A then we hit up Hallmark, Bath & Body Works, and Target. Next on our list of places to go was Kohl's and Dick's Sporting Goods. However, on the way to Kohl's I started feeling not so well so I bowed out and went home to rest. I'm glad I did because it made me feel better since we had an evening out in downtown Leonardtown for the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting! It was actually warm this year! The past few years we've been it's been SO cold but this year it was in the high 50's! It was a delightful evening with Collin.

Enjoying Chick-Fil-A ice dreams!
Collin and I had a basically free meal at Chick-Fil-A Friday night (yay coupons!). Afterwards we had delicious Ice Dreams.
Day 23 of #novemberthankful Today I am thankful to live in a place with a downtown that celebrates the beginning of the Christmas season with a tree lighting. I'm also thankful for the quaint area we live in and how vibrant it is!

Saturday once Collin got home from work we headed to his parent's house because his mom was having an Open House for her Thirty One and Mary Kay businesses. We spent the afternoon there helping her out. She had a successful open house and I'm so glad! That evening we relaxed at home, had homemade buffalo chicken pizza, and played Sports Resort on the Wii! We hadn't played with the Wii in a while and it was fun!

Awesome sky this morning! #skylove
There was an awesome sky on Saturday morning while I was running errands!

Sunday we had church in the morning, then we watched a movie while we ate lunch before going to our friend's, Jeff and Jeannie, apartment for the afternoon/evening. Jeannie and I made cards while the guys watched Vegas Vacation and played video games! Then they made us a delicious dinner and we had S*more Pie for dessert. Such a fun day with our friends.

And just to share something silly, I filled this MadLib out on my phone this weekend and thought it was hilarious. =)

I was using the voice recognition feature of the app and so Nose came out Knows and I realized it too late. I do know the difference, I promise!

I hope you all had wonderful weekends, too. For my American readers, I hope you enjoyed a great Thanksgiving holiday! May this coming week not be too long and arduous!

The Gratitude Challenge - Day 9

1 Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness.
Let the whole world know what he has done.
2 Sing to him; yes, sing his praises.
Tell everyone about his wonderful deeds.
3 Exult in his holy name;
rejoice, you who worship the Lord.
Psalm 105 (NLT)

Today I am grateful, oh so very grateful, that Target is selling colored tights for $5. I have been wanting fun colored tights for MONTHS. Literally since last winter. But the stores around here only sold basic colors (or ones I wasn't too interested in) and they were too expensive for my liking. But I was walking around Target on Sunday and saw that display above and I literally stopped in my tracks and said a quick thank you to God! It might seem silly but I am so happy. So, so happy. So far I've only bought two pairs, red and plum, but I plan to buy quite a few more. Hurray for fun colored tights!!

This post is supposed to be for Saturday. I was quite busy this weekend and didn't get a chance to post my photos. The picture for day 18 was of your shoes. I love these flip flops. They are super comfortable and quite cute (I think anyway). Plus, I have a furry little friend at my feet who makes the picture adorable. ; )

If you're participating in the challenge, leave me a comment, I love shoes so I'd like to look at your shoe pictures!

So I've been completely one day behind on this challenge for a few days now (at least posting-wise, my pictures have been taken on time) and that is just sad! Today I am going to catch up and post the picture for today this evening! The picture for Day 13 was to be of yourself and 13 things. This one was really hard for me. I wanted to do something creative but I wasn't sure what to post or do. And then it hit me. I love shoes. I have way more than 13 pairs of shoes. I could take a picture of me and a bunch of my shoes! So that's what you get. =)

If you're participating in the challenge, leave me a comment. I wanna see what you guys came up with!

Today's picture is of what you wore today. I wasn't sure how to go about photographing this. I first took a picture of my clothes before I put them on but I wanted you all to see them on me. So I also took one of myself using the self timer. I'll post them both for you to see!
I really like this outfit. I am totally in love with these pants. And this top is so frilly and fun. Plus the color just pops. And of course I paired it with my black and white patterned wedges since they're so fun. Too bad you can't really see them that well! Overall I think today's outfit can be described as "fun". In my opinion anyway. =)

If you're participating in the challenge leave me a comment below. I'd love to see your outfits!

A Little Like Torture

Yesterday I went into Anthropologie for the first time. I have browsed their online store and seen their clothes and housewares on other blogs before but I'd never experienced the goodness in person until yesterday. I was in love. I wanted to buy like half the store. Unforunately our budget does not allow for such purchases and I was unable to buy anything (darn prices!) but I loved being in there. I even tried on some items that were on the clearance racks and found the CUTEST outfit. However, spending $39.95 each on a tank top and a pair of shorts is a little out of reach for me.

Anyway, here is a beautiful little list of my dream items if I were to ever acquire the funds (minus a few I saw in the store but couldn't find on the website).

So there you have it! A lengthy list of my dream items from Anthropologie. It really was a little like torture going in there and not being able to buy anything...

I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! Other than shopping yesterday I got to spend some time with my parents on Sunday (and Collin, too of course!) and on Saturday I went to a pool party where I didn't get in the pool at all! I'm not a big fan of being in the water but I love being at the water. It was a pretty fun weekend! The only not fun part was that Collin worked every day but Sunday. =/ That's typical but it makes it sad when I have a 4 day weekend. So what did you do this weekend? Leave me a comment, I'd love to hear about it!

If Only I Had Money...

I think spring is finally here. It's been in the 60's every day this week and will continue to be 60 or higher for the foreseeable forecast! Which means soon I can wear lots and lots of skirts and dresses! I have a few nice summery dresses and skirts which I wore a lot of last year but I wish I had an endless supply of money to buy some new ones to add to my wardrobe. Here are just a few of the dresses I'd like to buy!
Dot Jacquard Sundress at Dress Barn

Everyday Bouquet Dress at Mod Cloth

Shanghai Dress at Shabby Apple

Cross-Front Dress at Old Navy

So who'd like to donate to the "Cindy wants a new wardrobe" fund? Anybody? ; )

What's your favorite thing to wear during the warm spring days and throughout summer? Is it skirts and dresses like me? I'd love to know what you're wishing to add to your wardrobe!

Decisions, Decisions...

I know I haven't blogged all week. And I'm sorry for that. I've got a lot going on right now though. A lot of really tough situations that don't have clear answers are hitting us all at once and it's not much fun. But don't worry, I'm still happy and enjoying the parts of my life that aren't causing us major stress. And once things get figured out and situations are decided or settled I'll share some more about those things, but I need to keep them off the blogosphere for now. I hope you understand.

Anyway, those things aren't going to keep me from blogging completely. I may only sporadically blog here and there for a little bit, but it will all depend on how I'm feeling each day. With lots on my mind it's tough to find inspiration for blogging.

I've had some fun the past few days though! Over the weekend Collin and I got to go to a concert at our church of a music ministry team. It was pretty good and we enjoyed chatting with some of the band members afterwards. We had a fun date night on Saturday evening after he got off work and we enjoyed spending some quality time together.
We LOVE Chick-Fil-A. It's actually where we had our first date of sorts. Actually, our date Saturday night was just like our first date to a tee. We met at Chick-Fil-A for lunch and went to Target and walked around. We did the same thing on Saturday, only it was dinner instead of lunch! We almost always get cookies and cream milkshakes because we love them so much and Collin gets my cherry. I don't care that I was shivering while drinking it, it was delicious!

On Sunday I experimented with my outfit a little bit and was a little concerned about how it looked until Collin told me I looked really good. Needless to say I left the outfit on and felt great the whole day! I know I'm not a fashion blogger, but I want to share some pictures of my outfit because I loved it!
So anyway, it may not be all that cutting edge for most of you but I NEVER would have worn a shirt that was long like that with a skirt until I started looking at some fashion blogs and saw that it actually looks really cute. I was proud of myself for trying something new and liking it! And maybe I will post some more fashion pictures if I'm really liking my outfit one day. Who knows. Anyway... Sunday evening we spent over at my parent's house and we had dinner and played Wii. We had a lot of fun and it was good to spend some time with my parents. We actually went over there last night for dinner as well. Lucky us! The cat in my pictures above is my baby boy, Jake. He wandered into our lives when I was just graduating from high school in '04 and he won my heart instantly. He's too attached to my dad to come live with me but he will always be my baby boy. I love that cat so much and I miss him!

So yes, I have had some fun and will continue to! But if you guys could please pray for us, we could use it. Like I said, there are a lot of things going on that are basically major life decisions and need some serious prayer. So thanks in advance!
