So This is Love - David and Alicia

What a great weekend! I was so glad to be a part of Alicia and David's special day. It was such an honor to be a bridesmaid for Alicia. She was a gorgeous bride! And we had a bunch of fun, too! I am so excited to share some of the photos that I took of the big day! It was a beautiful day. Lots of sun, a bit of a breeze, and two people very evidentally in love. Us girls had fun getting ready at the church before hand. I think the preparation is so special because lots of fun bonding takes place. Anyway, the ceremony was beautiful! I love what the pastor said about Alicia and David and their relationship. He also had some beautiful words to say about the relationship between marriage and Christ. We took some photos at the church after the ceremony but then we drove over to a local park and took some more bridal party shots. I can't wait to see Tiff's pictures because I know they turned out really well! Anyway, after photos we headed to the reception where we had a blast dancing and celebrating with Alicia and David! Then we sent them off on their merry newlywed way in a car covered in well wishes, streamers, and the empty cans from the reception!

Congratulations Alicia and David and may you have many happy years ahead of you filled with love and blessings from the One who brought you together!

Fill in the Blank Thursday?

Hey guys I have a special treat for you today! Collin (my husband for those who may not know...) filled out the blanks from last week (see my answers here) about summer and I wanted to share them with you! He loves summer and so I wanted him to tell you all about it! I hope you enjoy hearing a little bit from the man in my life. I am hoping to include him on the blog every now and then in various ways! Now... onto Collin's blanks!

1. My plans this summer include Dj-ing a wedding reception in a couple of weeks, a considerable amount of frisbee golf, ASP, and hatin' on Netflix (for the split).

2. The best summer I ever had was 2001: A Summer Odyssey. That summer, I found a big VHS video camera and introduced myself to filmmaking. I made all kinds of stuff from pizza commercials to music videos to blair witch parodies. I also did what any teenager does with a camera... dumb stuff.

3. Summer is opportunity, theme parks, ASP, and the river concert series.

4. My favorite summer food is a cheeseburger fresh off the grill with garden fresh toppings.

5. The best way to quench a summer thirst is with a slightly frozen bottle of Fierce Grape Gatorade.

6. My summer uniform consists of flip flops and sunglasses. No that's not all I'm wearing. That's just what's consistent.

7. The best thing about summer is the night time thunderstorms. I wouldn't trade God's techno party for anything.

I can't wait to see these girls again for Alicia's wedding this weekend! Of course Alicia is the bride and Mary Lee, Rachael and I are bridesmaids. I have missed them so!

Excitement!

The key to happiness is excitement for the future.

I have no idea who first said those words. I looked all over the internet (i.e. I did a google search for the phrase and looked at the first few pages that came up...) and I couldn't find a source. If you do know who said it, let me know.

Anyway... that phrase is so true. When I am really looking forward to something that's coming up I am filled with immense happiness. Right now I'm really, really excited for this weekend. One of my closest friends from college is getting married on Saturday! I have the privilege of being one of her bridesmaids and I'm just so excited! I get to travel to PA with my Collin on Friday for a mini vacay, participate in all the pre-wedding festivities and then on Saturday celebrate the wonderful marriage celebration of Alicia and David whom I love dearly! It shall be a fantastic day filled with lots of love and fun! And something that makes it even better, my best friend is the photographer for the wedding so I get to see her again! I haven't seen her since January! Lots and lots of exciting things happening this weekend!!

And then we get back from PA on Sunday afternoon and our church's Vacation Bible School begins and I'm a leader for it! And next Friday the orchestra at the River Concert Series is playing Mahler's 1st Symphony (Titan). Oh my gosh!! I am sooooo super excited about that. It's probably my favorite. Have a listen of the 1st Movement (it's at the bottom). And then the week after Bible school ends we leave for our mission trip! So many exciting things happening!!
