The Big Christmas Card Reveal!

So back in this post I shared with you guys some different photo cards that I was choosing from for our Christmas card this year.  And I promised you I'd show you our final result.  Well, you don't have to wait any longer!  I wanted to wait until I'd sent them out and people had gotten them before I blogged about it though because I didn't want to spoil it for anyone!

So... the winning card is....

I love it!!  I REALLY loved this card and of course it was hard to pick out one or even two favorite photos to put on a card so we got to put six!  My best friend Tiff took pictures for us at a park overlooking Harrisburg when we went to visit them the first weekend of December and it was cold but fun!  I love Tiff's photography (Tiffany Blackstone Photography) so it was a honor to have her take these pictures for us.

Anyway... now onto the REALLY cool news.  Shortly after I blogged about the Tiny Prints photo cards I got contacted by a reporter from the Wall Street Journal.  She had found my blog while doing a search for holiday photo cards.  She said she was writing an article on photo holiday cards and wanted to interview me and use my card in her article!  You guys, I was so honored to have been asked and of course I worked with her and now Collin and I are featured in the Wall Street Journal!  You can view the article here.  I'm quoted and she also has our card featured.  What a neat, neat opportunity!!

If you don't mind, I'd also like to now share a few of the photos from our shoot with Tiff.  I really love the photos she took and I want to share them with you all!

I'm gonna share some more Christmas fun posts this week so stay tuned!

Christmas Cards Galore!

I love Christmas. I love everything about it. And I'll post more about that later during the month of December sometime, but right now I want to talk about Christmas cards! I love getting snail mail. It makes me so happy to get snail mail and Christmas time is amazing because I get lots of it! Last year was really special because it was the first year Collin and I were married and so we got our own cards!! We didn't get added on to our parent's cards, we had our own. And it was fabulous!

In addition to my love for getting Christmas cards, I love to send Christmas cards! It's such a special way to let people know you care and that you wish the best for them at Christmas and all year through! Plus, I figured if I love getting mail this much I'm gonna make someone else very happy! =D

This year I have the opportunity to be a part of the Tiny Prints Holiday Campaign! I am so excited to have this opportunity because Tiny Prints has wonderful Christmas cards. They have such bright and colorful cards that are beautiful and fun! It's so hard to choose the perfect one. Now I'd like to share with you a few of my favorites that I'll be choosing from!

We're having our pictures taken this weekend so soon after I'll be able to officially pick which card to order! I'm so excited to see how they turn out. And I can't wait to get them and put them in the mail!

Do you enjoy sending out and receiving Christmas cards? Where are you getting yours this year? Do you buy generic ones, photos ones, or are you super crafty and you make your own? Which one do you think I should choose of those above?

Snail Mail Makes My Heart Happy!

I absolutely love to get mail.  One of my favorite things is to stop by the mailbox everyday on my way home from work and see what lovelies are waiting for me.  Unfortunately most days it's junk: pre-approved credit cards they want you to sign up for, coupons for places I don't shop, the RedPlum flyer, etc.  But occassionally there's that one piece of *real* mail hiding in that stack of junk.  It's that little piece that keeps me so excited for checking the mail!

This time of year makes my heart especially happy because we get Christmas cards!  With this being our first year of married life and our first year of living on our own we're getting Christmas cards addressed just to us!  It's not address to my parents with my sister and I as an addition.  It's for Collin and Cindy Pastorius!  I LOVE it!  We receieved our first one yesterday and boy was I excited!  I can't wait to get more in the mail as the month continues and Christmas gets closer.

Since I like to receive cards so much I also thoroughly enjoy sending cards as well.  If getting a card in the mail brings me so much joy it is bound to bring joy to others and I want to share that!  And as I said, it's our first Christmas on our own so we get to pick out our own cards (an awesome first!) and I love to put my personality into it.  I was disappointed because I wasn't sure I'd be able to buy Christmas cards this year (the cost does add up, after all) but I heard about this wonderful promotion through Shutterfly for bloggers and couldn't have been happier to be selected to participate!  Shutterfly is offering 50 FREE cards to bloggers and all you have to do is sign up here, but hurry the registration deadline is tomorrow, Friday, Dec. 10!

I took a look at the cards they offer in their 2010 holiday collection and there's so many wonderful cards to choose from!  It will be quite difficult to make a decision but I'd like to share with you a few of my favorites!
So there you have a few of my favorites!  That's just 5 of the hundreds I could choose from!  If you haven't picked your Christmas cards yet I'd encourage you to look into using Shutterfly!  Even if you can't take advantage of their blogger promotion they're having a good special on their cards.  I can't wait to send my cards out to our friends and family!

Which card do you like the best?  I think I have my top pick but I want to see what you guys think!  Let me know in the comments.
