(Semi) Wordless Wednesday

It's interesting how moving affects not just us people but it also really affects our pets. Our kitties began acting out as soon as we started packing. They knew something was up and I do believe that pets, especially cats, dislike change more than we do.

Once we moved them into the new apartment, Stank began freaking out. The person who lived there before us very obviously had a cat; you could smell it. I hate that! But I suppose that's the price you pay for living in apartments; you have to deal with issues from the prior tenants. Anyway, Stank was NOT happy about the move at first. He was very, very nervous and he wouldn't stop sniffing around (which is normal) but I know he smelled the previous cat. And since there wasn't that cat to show his dominance to, he began to hiss and growl at Seabass! And poor little Seabass didn't know what was going on. He and Stank have become buddies so I'm sure it was upsetting to him that his big brother was being mean again. =(

Fortunately Stank has calmed down and I think our smells are beginning to permeate and dominate the smells from the other cat and prior tenant. Thank goodness! We were really concerned about Stank there for a little while! I knew it would be normal for the cats to want to sniff around and that it would take a day or two for them to be comfortable enough to be themselves in the new place, but we didn't expect behavior like that from Stank!

Silly kitty is taking advantage of the extra space the packing boxes provides. #cats #catsofinstagram #silly
Seabass taking advantage of the extra space that packing boxes provides. He also loved jumping into the empty boxes!

The way he's laying makes him look even fatter than he actually is. Lol #furbaby #cats #fatty #catsofinstagram
Stank on moving day. He didn't want to get out of bed because he knew something was going on.

If you have pets, how do they react when you move? Do they freak out like my cats did?

If You Have To Move...

...it's nice to have a weekend like we did! Moving is never fun. Packing boxes and then moving them, scouring up help to move the big furniture, borrowing a truck/trailer to put the stuff in (thank goodness for our dads and friend, Butch!), and finding places for the boxes in the new place so you can "live around them" is just frustrating. But, it's all not so bad when the weekend is as beautiful as it was for us!

It was in the mid 60's and sunny both Saturday and Sunday! We did a bit of moving on Friday too, when it was off and on rainy and in the 70's. Still not bad but not quite as nice and Saturday and Sunday when we did a good chunk of the stuff!

It's a beautiful day for moving! #spring #pretty #sky #skylove

We are so excited that we are finally in our much larger two bedroom!! I LOVE it. It may only be about 210 extra square feet but it's huge to us! It feels so much more roomy and we have a hallway!! We've never really had a hallway in any of our places so far. It may seem trivial, but it's big enough we have a hallway! I think another reason it seems larger is because in addition to the extra space, we have less furniture stuff in our living area. Since we have a second bedroom the bookshelves are all in there and we got rid of a bookshelf that was falling apart.

We can't wait to continue unpacking and make this place our cozy new home. It's already pretty cozy, I just know it will get even better when it's decorated, all the boxes are gone, and we've bought the few things we need that weren't needed in our old place! I'm so glad we stayed in our same community though because we've absolutely loved living there for the past year. It was a great bonus when we were looking to upgrade that they had a two bedroom that was very much so within our price range!

It is definitely a relief though that the move is over with. We were both pretty stressed about it, but it went fairly smooth! A big HUGE shout out to our family and the few friends that helped us. Without them it would have been much, much more stressful!

Even More Little Notes

Dear Grilled Cheese, thank you for being such an easy and delicious meal. Thank you for tasting good even when my tummy hasn't been feeling too well. You are one of my favorites.

Dinner of champions! Lol

Dear New Apartment, you are awesome! I love how great you're turning out as we're slowly unpacking boxes. Thanks for having the right spaces for all our stuff. It's pretty swell. I can't wait to finish making you pretty and cozy. I am definitely happy and ready to go home now!

Dear CAC Office Worker, it brightened my day to come in and renew my CAC yesterday because of the inspirational sayings you had taped to your desk. You were also a pretty cool dude it seemed and I appreciate your cheerful personality and niceness to me.

Awesome encouraging words at the CAC office today. =)
"Life is not the party we hoped for... but while we are here we might as well dance!"
"Do not ask the Lord to guide your footsteps if you're not willing to move your feet."

Dear Collin, I love you. Thanks for being so stellar throughout this whole move and putting things where they need to go and for unpacking and working with me to get our place looking so great. Thanks for taking the initiative with a lot of it and surprising me with things being put away!

Dear Beautiful Weather, you have been so pretty the past week or so. And even on Wednesday when you decided to rain all evening when we were running errands, you weren't pouring and I greatly appreciate that!

Dear Sky, you are incredible. And I am especially loving your views from our new neighborhood!

I love the sky from our new neighborhood!

Life in Boxes

Look who's helping us pack. Lol
Stank wanted to help us pack. =P
and
 then, she {snapped}

Welp, it finally came! The day I thought would never come finally came. We moved out of Collin's parent's basement! Woo! Yesterday was the big day and overall it went really smoothly. We had lots of help from some great friends and family, and we were so thankful for them and their willingness to help us. We got everything out of the storage unit and most of our stuff from the house. There's still a few things left behind at the house but they'll get brought over this week, including Stank! I can't wait to see what he thinks about his new digs.

The apartment is so cute and cozy. It's tiny, only a one bedroom, but it's perfect I think. Everything is still in boxes so it seems really small but once we unpack and organize I think it will be just right! I can't wait to get it all set up and fully liveable. Once we do I'll definitely take pictures, and maybe even a video tour! So yeah... that's what's going on in my life. The next several days will be filled with unpacking boxes and lots of organizing. Good thing I enjoy organizing. =)

More Little Notes

Dear New Apartment, get ready! I am SOO excited to see you and move in and get aquainted. Only 3 more weeks!! I can hardly stand it!

Dear Cancelled Meetings, it would be quite stellar if I could have some notice about your cancelled status. It stinks putting everything on hold to attend the meeting only to find out I was not informed it was cancelled.

Dear Exercise/Walking, you really don't seem so daunting when I am walking with a friend. Thanks for being actually enjoyable! And for helping me to feel good and start looking better.

Dear Life, I am thoroughly enjoying you! Thank you for having lots of fun things going on to keep me happy and preoccupied. It has been a blast spending time with people I love and getting some craft time in there, too!

Dear Blog, sorry you've been neglected lately, but see above. I've been too busy enjoying life away from the computer that I haven't had time for you.

Dear Hair, thank you for cooperating today! I had a feeling you would be atrocious today but you're not and I appreciate that!
I'm glad my hair cooperated today. I didn't need to pull it back!

Dear Weather, thanks for being so delightful these past few days! I've thoroughly enjoyed the warm temperatures. Please stick around and stay just as you are. And please don't add any humidity. *if only!*

Dear Allergies, go away. You stink. That is all.

Dear Atlantic Beach, just 5 more days until we are reunited. Oh how I can't wait! So, so excited to spend our anniversary in your wonderful little area. Thanks for being off-season so it won't be so crowded! See you soon, my love!

The Happenings As of Late

Is it alright if I share some photos with you guys to fill you in on what's been going on the past week? I feel like it's easier that way to get you guys updated on my life!
Delicious shake I just made! Light vanilla ice cream with chocolate Carnation Instant Breakfast and a little milk! Soo yummy!
So last Thursday after work I went home and my weekend had begun! I was hungry but knew it would be a while before Collin would get off work for us to have dinner. I wanted something nutritious and it was really warm outside so I wanted a milkshake. Therefore I decided to make a semi-nutritious milkshake. I took light vanilla ice cream and added some Carnation Breakfast Essentials poweder in Milk Chocolate for my nutrition and chocolate flavor. Then I added in some milk and blended away in our little single serve blender thing. It was SOO delicious.
Relaxing on the back porch on this beautiful day with my shake and my Stank! ; )
And because it was such a beautiful day I enjoyed my shake on the back porch with my Stank!
My awesome loot from my Thirty One party!!! Being a hostess rocks!!
A few weeks ago I hosted a Thirty One party and I was the first hostess for my mother-in-law who joined the business at the beginning of February. I had a really good party and this was all the loot I got for being a hostess! I was SO excited about it!!
It's snowing like crazy today!
Oh it's just do beautiful, I don't care that it's snowing in March and I really want spring.
Monday it snowed like crazy! It was absolutely gorgeous! It was the most snow we'd had all year. And it was the BEST kind of snow! Once it stopped snowing around 2pm or so it all melted within an hour! =D
And after a snowy day we have a beautiful sunset!
And after a snowy day we had a beautiful sunset!
I don't care that this is blurry. Me working hard for the government. =)
I don't care that this is blurry. This is me working hard for the government. ; )
And the result of my being in a box. Getting all this stuff out so we can inventory it.
And here's the result of me being in that box. It was so deep that we couldn't get everything out of it to inventory so I needed to get in to toss the stuff out.
Exactly 2 months until I can officially call this home!
Over the weekend Collin and I looked into some apartments in the area. We found one that is perfect for us and in our price range and we put down our deposit on Sunday! We sign the lease and move in on May 7th! I'm so super excited! We've been living in his parent's basement for a year now and as grateful as we are to them for letting us live there rent free to get back on our feet it is time to move out. And I can't wait until I get my stuff out of storage! It will be like it's all new once again! Oh how I've missed my things!
It's so gorgeous out I had to dress springy!
And because it's so nice out today I just had to dress spring-y! It's supposed to get up to 70° today!! Huray!!

So that's what's been going on in my life lately! Some really good and exciting things! I have lots to look forward to the next couple months and I couldn't be happier/more excited about it!

Moving On Up...

That was pretty much us a few days ago. This past weekend we moved out of our first home together. It was bittersweet. We were both very ready to get out of that town home and the community that we lived in (the leasing office and maintenance left a lot to be desired) but it was still sad to leave our first place. I am so tired today. So, so tired. And quite a bit sore. Last week some MAJOR packing took place and a big thank you goes out to my mom who came over twice last week and helped us pack. We would not have been able to do it without her! She's so generous and I'm so grateful! We had moving help come over on Friday evening and we got all the big furniture and most of the boxes and stuff out of the house. There was a little bit left but Collin and I got it all out on Saturday and Sunday. It was much too late Friday evening to deal with it. We are also so very, very grateful to both of our parents and our dear friend Butch for their help. It was a mostly stress-free experience because of them! Saturday and Sunday, once everything was out of the town home, Collin and I had to do some major cleaning to make it as close to the way it was when we moved in. It took a lot of time and work but we got it done. I am so glad that it's done. Now all we have to do is unpack and find places for our stuff in our new place...

Saturday morning we were lazy, but we needed it after the LONG day on Friday, and we played with our cat and had biscuits and gravy for breakfast. We took a break from cleaning on Saturday afternoon and went to go watch our friend Kirsten (Butch's daughter)'s basketball game. It was so fun! She plays on a 3rd and 4th grade team and those kids were so cute and having so much fun! Then afterward we went out to dinner with their family and very much enjoyed their company. Then yesterday we discovered that Rita's is open again! So we took a cleaning/moving break and enjoyed some delicious Italian Ice. I had a gelati with cheesecake ice and chocolate/vanilla twist custard. SOOO yummy! And Collin had Swedish fish ice. Did you know they had that?! It tasted JUST like Swedish fish. Do you guys have Rita's where ever you may be? It's only been around here for 3 years or so. We don't go often but it's a fun treat to have.

So anyway, how was your all's weekends? It was GORGEOUS! Spring is finally here and I was so excited. Even though we were inside cleaning most of the weekend it was still nice to enjoy the weather while we were outside, and to have the windows open while cleaning! I hope spring has arrived for you, too!
