Hodge Podge Weekend Fun

This weekend was an exceptionally good one! Nothing too amazing or wonderful happened but it was just relaxing and fun! Friday morning I headed over to my in-laws house and my mom-in-law and I made cards together! I had a great time spending the day with her chatting and crafting. Then when I was done making cards I picked up little Faith and we snuggled for a bit. =)

I thought she was so cute how her head was resting on the counter.

On the drive home to meet up with Collin so we could go out to dinner with friends I saw the most beautiful sunset. It was about 4:30 so it wasn't completely in "sunset" mode but it was just so spectacular! And I love all the sunbursts and little sunspots it created.

Beautiful sunset today. #skylove

Saturday morning I was a little sad because we initially thought Collin would have off this Saturday. However, due to a coworker's issue, Collin had to work. Fortunately Saturdays are only 8-1 shifts. But it still was stinky. So I watched Greek on Netflix and cleaned the house! It felt so good to get some cleaning done. And while I watched tv the boys kept me company on the couch! They're so good for that.

Once Collin got off work we ran some errands and then played frisbee golf! It was so nice out! Definitely warm enough to be outside playing! We hadn't played since Labor Day weekend and even then we didn't play a full 9 holes. It was a glorious day! And of course I took some pictures along the course, even though it did annoy Collin a little...

That evening we met up with some friends at the bowling alley. We didn't actually bowl (money is tight) but we enjoyed watching and hanging out with some friends we hadn't seen in a long time! And being in the bowling alley during Cosmic Bowling is so much fun!

Cosmic bowling is the best!

So this is really blurry but I love it!
I don't care that this picture is really blurry because I love it so!

Sunday was a fun day too! We had LOTS of technical difficulties at church during rehearsal but we prayed hard and sounded great! I love how it works that way. The Sundays that we're really struggling and having lots of issues turn out to be the best. It's very humbling. It's a good reminder that we really can't lead worship without God on our side! That afternoon the ladies of my book club hosted a Princess Party at church. I have some pictures I want to share but they're still on my camera and I don't have it with me to upload them. So I'll show them tomorrow probably! But the Princess Party was great. It was an opportunity for girls (and their moms, grandmas, aunts, etc) to come to the church in their princess gowns and just enjoy an afternoon of princess-y activities and being reminded that we are all princesses because our Father is the King! How neat is that??

I hope you dear ones had a great weekend, too! I'd love to hear about it! Send me an email, leave a comment or give me a link to your blog post about your weekend. Happy Monday to you all and happy week!

Christmas Decorations!

Even though I didn't get to decorate too much this year since we don't have much space I want to share with you guys a few pictures I took of our tree and my vase of ornament balls that I love. And I also wanna share some pictures of my mom's house that I took while I was over there last Sunday. My mom is so good with decorating. She just has this natural flair for it and I hope one day I can make my home look as beautiful as hers always does!

Mom put owls all over her tree this year. She's quite obsessed with owls at the moment. =)

I'm excited to hopefully next year be in our own place so I can do some full out decorating. I have a few other little decorative things out, like our stockings are hung and the piano has snowmen all over it. And our movie/game bookshelf has some stuff on it but I didn't take pictures of them (yet). It's nice though to have a bit of festiveness in our tiny little space. It makes me really happy and brings me so much joy!

Water Falls so Gently

On Saturday at the race while I was waiting for the first runners to come back I decided to explore the little courtyard at the hotel where the race was based from. There was this really pretty fountain so I decided to take some photos of it. I love how I was able to capture the water droplets actually falling. So neat!

Christmas Cards Galore!

I love Christmas. I love everything about it. And I'll post more about that later during the month of December sometime, but right now I want to talk about Christmas cards! I love getting snail mail. It makes me so happy to get snail mail and Christmas time is amazing because I get lots of it! Last year was really special because it was the first year Collin and I were married and so we got our own cards!! We didn't get added on to our parent's cards, we had our own. And it was fabulous!

In addition to my love for getting Christmas cards, I love to send Christmas cards! It's such a special way to let people know you care and that you wish the best for them at Christmas and all year through! Plus, I figured if I love getting mail this much I'm gonna make someone else very happy! =D

This year I have the opportunity to be a part of the Tiny Prints Holiday Campaign! I am so excited to have this opportunity because Tiny Prints has wonderful Christmas cards. They have such bright and colorful cards that are beautiful and fun! It's so hard to choose the perfect one. Now I'd like to share with you a few of my favorites that I'll be choosing from!

We're having our pictures taken this weekend so soon after I'll be able to officially pick which card to order! I'm so excited to see how they turn out. And I can't wait to get them and put them in the mail!

Do you enjoy sending out and receiving Christmas cards? Where are you getting yours this year? Do you buy generic ones, photos ones, or are you super crafty and you make your own? Which one do you think I should choose of those above?

Fall Decor Finds

You guys, it is so hard not living in my own space. And it's especially hard because the space we're living in is already furnished and decorated. I want to decorate for fall so badly yet I have no place to put any decorations. When we moved into my in-law's basement I managed to find a few places for some of my stuff but not much at all. Plus, all of my fall decor items are in our storage unit. I bought some cute little pumpkin, leaves, and acorns that will go perfectly in a vase or bowl, but now I just have to find a vase or bowl to put them in.

Anyway, even though I can't really decorate, I've found some awesome fall decor ideas on Pinterest. I'm sharing a few of my favorites with you today! All of the photos were found on Pinterest and I've included the original sources as best I can.

What fun fall decor have you found? Have you incorporated any of it into your home yet? Do you plan to? You can bet that next year when I'm in my own place I'll be incorporating some of these awesome ideas!
