Dreams Bring Decisions

Two nights ago I had the strangest dream. I dreamed that I was basically nine months pregnant with a baby girl. I don't remember every detail of it now but I do remember being at the doctor's or the hospital and feeling the baby's heartbeat through my stomach; like how you would feel the baby kicking/moving but it was her heartbeat. But the strangest part was I had never felt her move or anything until this point, which is strange since I was close to full-term. In my dream though her heartbeat stopped and it really scared me, I thought I had lost her but then a little while later I could feel her again. I was walking around in my dream with my hands under my belly just feeling her heartbeat because I thought it was the coolest and most amazing sensation. I didn't want to take my hands off my belly for any reason because I loved feeling it. Then after I left my visit with the doctor I kept running into all these people I knew, I was at some outside festival type thing, and I was making everyone I ran into feel my belly and my baby inside me. I kept explaining to them that I had never felt the baby before inside me and so this was incredible! I woke up from my dream slightly freaked out and I could still "feel" the baby's heartbeat. I couldn't really but it was all just in my mind. It really freaked me out though because there is no way Collin and I are ready for children. Not that we don't want them someday, we're just in no shape financially to have a baby right now.

I just did a little research on dreams and what it means to dream of being pregnant and this is the general conscensus:
To dream that you are pregnant, symbolizes an aspect of yourself or some aspect of your personal life that is growing and developing. You may not be ready to talk about it or act on it. Being pregnant in your dream may also represent the birth of a new idea, direction, project or goal.

To dream that you are pregnant with the baby dying inside of you, suggests that a project you had put a lot of effort into is falling apart and slowly deteriorating. Nothing is working out the way you had anticipated.

I suppose that's pretty much why I was dreaming about being pregnant. I've been toying with the idea for a little while now of becoming a Vantel Pearl's Demonstrator but haven't signed up yet because I'm scared. I'm scared of not doing well, of not having any clients and being a failure. It would be a great opportunity for me because it would help us out a little bit financially. I could make my own hours and "work" as often or as little as I want to. But I've just been too scared to take the leap into this venture. I need to do it. I want to do it. So I think I'm going to stop putting it off and just join. Thank you pregnancy dream for giving me a kick in the right direction! =)

And maybe one day when I really am pregnant I'll have a pleasant pregnancy experience like in my dream. =) Have you ever dreamed of being pregnant? Was it as bizarre as my pregnancy dream?

Cindy

P.S. If you've never heard of Vantel Pearls visit their website here to learn more information. If you'd like to host a party or buy any jewelry send me an e-mail or leave a comment! I'd love to help you have a party. Also, if you're not in the general Southern Maryland/ Northern Virigina area and are interested in Vantel but don't know of a demonstrator let me know and I can put you in touch with someone in your area!

A Little Like Torture

Yesterday I went into Anthropologie for the first time. I have browsed their online store and seen their clothes and housewares on other blogs before but I'd never experienced the goodness in person until yesterday. I was in love. I wanted to buy like half the store. Unforunately our budget does not allow for such purchases and I was unable to buy anything (darn prices!) but I loved being in there. I even tried on some items that were on the clearance racks and found the CUTEST outfit. However, spending $39.95 each on a tank top and a pair of shorts is a little out of reach for me.

Anyway, here is a beautiful little list of my dream items if I were to ever acquire the funds (minus a few I saw in the store but couldn't find on the website).

So there you have it! A lengthy list of my dream items from Anthropologie. It really was a little like torture going in there and not being able to buy anything...

I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! Other than shopping yesterday I got to spend some time with my parents on Sunday (and Collin, too of course!) and on Saturday I went to a pool party where I didn't get in the pool at all! I'm not a big fan of being in the water but I love being at the water. It was a pretty fun weekend! The only not fun part was that Collin worked every day but Sunday. =/ That's typical but it makes it sad when I have a 4 day weekend. So what did you do this weekend? Leave me a comment, I'd love to hear about it!

If Only I Had Money...

I think spring is finally here. It's been in the 60's every day this week and will continue to be 60 or higher for the foreseeable forecast! Which means soon I can wear lots and lots of skirts and dresses! I have a few nice summery dresses and skirts which I wore a lot of last year but I wish I had an endless supply of money to buy some new ones to add to my wardrobe. Here are just a few of the dresses I'd like to buy!
Dot Jacquard Sundress at Dress Barn

Everyday Bouquet Dress at Mod Cloth

Shanghai Dress at Shabby Apple

Cross-Front Dress at Old Navy

So who'd like to donate to the "Cindy wants a new wardrobe" fund? Anybody? ; )

What's your favorite thing to wear during the warm spring days and throughout summer? Is it skirts and dresses like me? I'd love to know what you're wishing to add to your wardrobe!

Dream Big!

Found here
"You are never to old to set another goal or to dream a new dream."
- C.S. Lewis

I'm so excited about this Couch to 5k program. I've only been doing it for a week but I already feel better. I have more energy and this second week is surprisingly not as difficult as I thought it would be. I got through today's workout without feeling like I was going to die! I think that's very much an accomplishment. I am definitely excited to keep with it and to run a 5k once I'm done. The only thing I'm dreading is that I'll be done in June and it will be hot here by then. Do I really wanna run in the heat? We'll see! I may just have to suck it up and do it!

What new dreams or goals are you wanting to set? Has there been something holding you back? I say go for it because like C.S. Lewis says you're never too old! And new goals and dreams are a great way to keep yourself excited about life!

Friday Favorites - week 10

I love this song. This is the radio edit so it's quite a bit shorter than the album version which is over 10 mins long, but it's so awesome you don't even realize you've been listening for 10 mins. But since the video is just a still image, let it play in the background and give this shorter version a try.
Anyway, BT, the artist, is an electronic musician who has actually been around since the early 90's but has become a favorite of mine since Collin and I started dating. His music is incredible. If you want a little background information on him go here and read up. And if you like the song above, take a listen to some of his other stuff off that album, These Hopeful Machines. It's quite an incredible album.

On Sunday we went to Ikea and bought a bookshelf and doors to use as a pantry in our new apartment since we won't have a true pantry area. I LOVE it. Collin put it together on Monday and actually moved our food over to it in our current place. I suppose he wanted to test it out before we move. Anyway, it's fantastic! Everything fits really well in there and it's quite nice looking. Plus it matches my other cabinet thing I have in my kitchen to hold kitchen linens. The picture above is not of ours, though I will post pictures of our new place when we move in 2 weeks!

I love these ideas for bedroom decor. In the first photo I love the clean look of the blue and white with a little splash of yellow thrown in from the flowers. I want to have flowers on my night stand. And in the second photo I love the yellow with the pop of orange. I'd probably prefer to make it a pop of blue with the yellow but in general I love that room. And it doesn't hurt that there's a cute little Yorkie on the bed; it makes me miss my puppy. I want to have a yellow based bedroom so bad, it's a shame Collin doesn't like it for our bedroom. Maybe I can compromise somehow...

What are you loving this Friday? Also, if you listen to the song above, let me know what you think. I'd love to hear others thoughts on BT!

A Few Years Down the Road

Collin and I are not ready to have kids. Not for a while anyway. However, my best friend sent me a link to the cutest nursery ever on the Bed, Bath, and Beyond website. She said she came across it and knows we're not planning on needing it for awhile but that she could totally picture us doing our nursery like that. And I SO agree! I told Collin that I wanted to buy the stuff now so we could have it for when we do have kids!

Anyway, here's the nursery I'd love to have if we have a little boy.

 photo 118320.jpg
You can view the bedding and the room decor here.

Isn't that just adorable!? If our kids don't turn out to be musical then there's something seriously wrong. This little nursery would just make me smile every time I walked into it.

So after viewing that I was curious about the options for a nursery for a little girl. I found and fell in love with this one.

You can view the bedding and the room decor here.

Isn't that just so precious? This nursery would also make me smile every time I walked into it. I definitely want my little girl to be surrounded by pink. And those little animals are so cute. It gives it a touch of whimsy. Here's hoping I have both a boy and a girl so I can decorate both ways!

Do you ever dream about your children's nursery's even when you're not planning for kids? Am I crazy? I just like all things having to do with decorating!

Friday Favorites - week 6

So, because Sunday is my birthday this week's Friday Favorites post is gonna be a few things that are on my "wish list" of sorts. No one's really asked me what I want for my birthday so if you're still looking for an idea, here ya go. ; ) These are more so just dream items that I probably won't really get though but would love if I did.

I did tell Collin that I wanted this, actually. I think it made him a little happy inside. I already have a pink Wii remote so why not have my own pink PS3 remote? He has his blue one, I want a pink one! Maybe it would make gaming less frustrating (See #20).
I've really been wanting some fun, bright colored tights this winter. All I have in my dresser are black, brown, and navy. I'd love pink, a maroon/red, bright blue, purple, yellow, etc etc. I love colors and these would make a great addition to my wardrobe. I'd take them footless or regular.
I absolutely love this print called "Misty Morning in Pink" I found on etsy. I think it's beautiful. I actually really like everything in this lady's shop. So gorgeous.

And one final thing that I'd like to have is...
The Flip UltraHD 8GB video camera. I really like the specifications best for the 8GB one. It has image stablization, an internal rechargeable battery, HD quality video, a port to connect the camera directly to an HDMI outfitted viewing source and so much more. I love to take pictures and videos and my camera does have a video option but this would be so much better and more convenient. It would be great for reliving memories!

What's on your wish list this beautiful Friday? Are you looking forward to the weekend? I know I am! Lots of celebrating going on!

Looking Forward When Looking Back

Found here
Last night we went over to Collin's parent's house to go through some of his old stuff that was in their storage room. His parents are cleaning out the room and wanted to know what Collin wanted to keep and what he wanted to get rid of. I love doing things like that because it gives me a glimpse of Collin as a kid. That's the one thing that makes me sad. Being so close to him and not having known him his whole life. It just doesn't seem right. So each time I have the opportunity to learn more about his childhood I love it.

Growing up Collin was a Boy Scout. Last night we stumbled upon an envelope of some of his badges and a letter sent from his North Carolina troop showing all the badges he had earned to give to his new troop in Maryland. I knew he had gotten a lot of badges and was pretty close to being an Eagle Scout but I had no idea what exactly that meant and how much he had earned to get to that point! In that moment I was so proud of my husband for his accomplishments and the dedication he had given to being a Boy Scout.

Another thing we were looking at was his giant Lego table his dad built and his collection of Legos. My sister and I played with Legos a lot ourselves when we were younger but we didn't have near the amount as Collin does. That's definitely something we're keeping and I told Collin "This will be so much fun for our kids to play with, and for us to play with, too!"

All this remincising about Collin's childhood and watching him with Josiah over the weekend made me think about how wonderful of a father he will be. And how if our kids are anything like him we'll have some pretty wonderful children. Granted I'm not ready for children anytime soon, but it is nice to know that I have a husband who is going to make a great father some day! I do hope though that our kids will be as sweet and caring as him but will also have his silliness and dedication. I hope that if we have a son he'll want to join Boy Scouts and strive to be like his daddy in achieving badges. And I hope he'll love to play with Legos; we do have a great collection after all. I'm really excited about having kids and raising a family with Collin!

Pottery Barn, You Tease...

Yesterday I got the new Pottery Barn catalog in the mail. Normally this would just be an "oh cool, something pretty to look at" moment but not with this one. I picked it up and opened it and fell in love. I had to put it down because I got so sad that I couldn't buy anything, let alone make my house look like that. I've always been a fan of Pottery Barn and what they do, but for some reason I just got really depressed with this catalog. Depressed because I love it so much. Whenever I go into the store at the mall I dream about putting those things into my house, or I imagine my dream house and having money so I can buy those things I see and want. One day I will have my dream fulfilled. I just know it. Even if it's just a few little things from Pottery Barn throughout the house. Though I do know that I could probably just as easily replicate the looks using things I find at other much more discounted places. That's actually what will probably end up happening. But it's my goal to one day at least own one thing Pottery Barn.

I just want to share with you a few of the pictures from the catalog which I especially loved.
It was so hard to not just put every image from the catalog in here. I just love everything! If you didn't get the catalog in the mail or have not viewed it yet you can do so here.

Am I alone in this obsession with pretty things for my house? Things that I can't afford yet I want so badly. Do any of you ogle at catalogues? Please tell me I'm not the only one!

I love Apple!

Call me a geek but I am sooo excited for this announcement! I've had my cell plan with Verizon since I got my first cell phone in 2002. Granted I was under my parent's contract, but still. I'm a loyal Verizon customer with my own plan now. Plus, it's the mobile provider with the best coverage in our area. Anyway, it has KILLED me that the iPhone was only available for AT&T. I love Apple. I love all their products and I've wanted an iPhone since they released them. The rumors that the iPhone was coming to Verizon have been going on for a while now and so I was just thrilled when I heard last week that they'd be making the announcement on Tuesday. And I was even more thrilled when I saw the announcement today and found out it was being released in February! I thought for certain they were just going to announce that it was coming to Verizon but not until the summer or fall. This is HUGE, people! Now granted, I can't afford to buy an iPhone for myself yet, but you better believe that as soon as I can afford it (and afford the extra charges from having a data plan) I will be a proud new iPhone owner! WOO!

Are any of you also excited about this new announcement? Will you be buying a Verizon iPhone in February or are you lucky and already have one through AT&T?

Man, I'm excited!!

Friday Favorites - week 3

This week was my first full week back to work after all the holiday festivities.  I did work during the holiday weeks but never a full week.  It was so glorious having 3 days weeks.  Granted, I have today off, but only because it's my normal Friday off (we get every other Friday off by working 9 hour days, it's called CWS - Compressed Work Schedule for those who may not know).  Anyway... when I get home from work in the evenings if I've nothing else to do I love to just sit and relax and watch a TV show.  And my new absolute favorite way of doing so is through Netflix streaming.
I love having a PS3 because we can stream through it and we have great high quality picture. But my favorite thing is the variety of stuff you can watch via streaming. It amazes me how almost everything that I want to watch is on Netflix streaming (not everything, but most). Currently I've been watching Psych. It's a show that I would watch if my parent's had it on and I was home and I thought it was quite funny, but I didn't watch it myself. But now I'm already on season 3 and I just love watching it! And I can watch Desperate Housewives on there. I started watching regularly about half way through season 2 or so back in '06 and we're currently watching through season 2 now. But once season 2 is over I'll refresh my memory until we're caught up, though we did already watch seasons 4 and 5 on there. Anyway... there's also been plenty of other shows (and movies too, of course) that we've watched on there as well that we probably would not have thought to watch otherwise. But I do love the Netflix Streaming. It's definitely a favorite. I don't know what I'll do when I finish all the episodes of all the shows I want to watch!

Something else I'm obsessed with right now is Peggle on my iPod.
I think Peggle can be played on a variety of different platforms but I have an iPod Touch so that's what I play on. I LOVE that game. It's kinda like Plinko in the sense that you drop a ball from the top of the screen and it bounces through little Pegs until it gets to the bottom. However, the goal of the game is to hit all orange pegs and as many blue ones as you can, too. Once you've removed all the orange pegs from the screen (the pegs disappear once they've been lit up) the level is over and you get your score. It's so addicting.

I am in love with the HGTV 2011 Dream House. The house this year is GORGEOUS! It's set in the beautiful mountains of Vermont and this place is huge and amazing. I seriously want to win the giveaway just so I can have that beautiful of a house to at least visit if I didn't live in it. It's two floors but the rooms are huge and beautiful. And it has my dream kitchen I mentioned a couple weeks ago!

You can go here to find out more information on the home and to look at all the pictures of the inside and of each and every room. Maybe you'll fall in love and want to win the sweepstakes, too. But don't enter so I can increase my chances of winning. ; )

What are you loving this beautiful Friday? Is there anything that I should be aware of so I can fall in love with more things?

The End of the Week

This weekend was a bit of a fun one.  I wasn't home very much, which was a little sad, but it was still a good weekend.  I got to go to Waldorf twice this weekend, to very different stores both trips though.  On Friday Collin and I headed up after work and he got fitted for his tux for the wedding he's in on New Year's.  Afterwards we wandered into hhgregg since neither of us had been in one and were curious about the inside.  I immediately began longing for a place of my own where I can buy the appliances I want.  They had the most gorgeous front loading washer and dryer set, in red none-the-less.  We looked at tvs and stereo systems for a bit and then headed over to the kitchen section and I yet again longed to buy new appliances.  I found my dream oven.  It's a dual oven but one of them is much smaller than a regular oven and is much more energy efficient.  You can basically cook just like you would in a larger one but it heats up much faster and since it's so small it uses less heat!  Oh man.  I was in love.  After we left hhgregg we headed to Bed, Bath, and Beyond where I continued to yearn for a bigger kitchen to put all the awesome gadgets, appliances, and place settings I saw in.  One day I'll be able to have my dream kitchen and I can not wait until that day.

On Saturday I headed back up the road to Waldorf with my mom and we went to the Christmas Tree Store and that place was awesome!  I had so much fun just looking at everything they had in there.  Before we went Mom had told me it was much more than just Christmas stuff and boy was she right!  This place was awesome!  I did buy only Christmas things but their selection of non-Christmas items is incredible!  After there we headed over to the mall where we each completed some Christmas shopping and got free Toll House cookies!  There was some lady in the middle of the mall who worked for Toll House that had a tiny oven and was baking the cookies right there!  I actually had two, one on my way up the escalator and another on our way out of Kohl's.  =)  Chocolate chip cookies are amazing and when they're free they're even better!

Later that evening Collin and I had our friend Jim over and we had a rousing night of gaming.  We started the evening off with Mouse Trap where much to our dismay we realized we were missing one of the marbles (we ended up rigging it with a battery dropping onto the see saw part) and not all the pieces were made very well so it was kinda a rig to get it to work properly.  I guess that's what happens when you buy it at a yard sale.  After Mouse Trap, which Jim won, we started a game of Risk.  I had only played Risk once before this and I was 12.  I did not remember anything about the game so Collin and Jim explained to me.  I actually ending up really enjoying it (until I started losing and then I got grumpy).  Right off the bat I took over the continent of Australia and had most of Asia actually, too.  And at one point I did own all of Asia, but that was a very short lived victory as Collin came and invaded me from Alaska.  I was not amused.  But yeah, it was a really fun game and even though we didn't finish it (it got too late) Collin was deemed the winner and the underdog.  At one point Collin had 9 countries and only one army on each, but then he came back and took over South and North America, some of Asia and some of Africa.  And on his last turn before we ended he took one territory from Australia from me.  I ended up getting second place over all which was cool.  So yeah, it was fun game!

Yesterday after church I had a bridal shower to go to and it was fun!  We played some fun games and the bride got lots of great gifts!  I enjoyed being there and supporting Bev in her upcoming marriage.  I'm so excited for her and Chris!  Afterwards Collin and I went over to his parent's house and spent the evening with them.  We had a nice time and I had a nice chat with his mom for a while while the guys were out getting us dinner.  We watched a bit of Jingle All the Way and that movie is so funny.

So yes, I'd say it was quite a good weekend!  I didn't get the baking done like I wanted to but I'll do it this week sometime, I'm sure!  What did you do this weekend?  Anything fun and exciting?  Share it with me in the comments!
