(Semi) Wordless Wednesday

What a beautiful sunrise this morning.

Today's sunrise was just way too beautiful. Enough said.

Happy Wednesday, everyone!

Over the Weekend

I did not take one picture of what was going on this weekend. And you know what, I am totally okay with that. I mean, sure it would have been nice to have some pictures but I was REALLY enjoying myself and living in the moment. Friday evening we went to downtown Leonardtown and walked around with our friend Kaitlin and had delicious Salsa's for dinner. Saturday I spent some time with my sister in the morning which was really nice and then in the afternoon we went to my company's picnic. We ate some good food and played mini golf! And we chatted with some coworkers for a bit. It was a fun time, just a little too hot for me but I survived. =) Then Sunday we spent some time at my parent's house because Collin needed to use their driveway to give my car an oil change (one bad thing about living in an apartment complex... you can't do car maintenance there). But it was really nice! I got to spend some quality time with my mom and later in the afternoon we went to Salsa's (two times in one weekend!) with the Barton family and my parents. And then we played a game and hung out back at my parent's house. It was a GREAT evening!

I DID take photos with my big girl camera of some of the pretty flowers at my parent's house on Sunday. I haven't sorted through them yet but I plan to today or tomorrow and will hopefully post some this week. I am really pleased with some of the pictures I got. Her Crepe Myrtle is just gorgeous right now and I even got a couple pictures of a butterfly on the butterfly bush!

Anyway.. I do want to share this picture of my buddy boy. People always say that dog's are man's best friend but I think a cat can be just as much a best friend as a dog. Especially because cats can take care of the pest problem. Just before I took this picture, Stank rescued me from a spider in the living room by eating it. I was so proud of him. And so grateful because it meant I didn't have to kill it myself!

After eating a spider he must relax in the sunlight.

I hope you had a great weekend! What did you do? Anything fun? I'd love to hear about it in the comments!!

Fill in the Blank Friday

Happy Friday! And yes, it is Fill in the Blank Friday time! I'd missed this so much so I'm really glad it's back to being a regular thing! Play along by visiting Lauren!

1. I am proud of my husband for everything he does for us. He works at a crappy job that he hates and his boss treats him like crap. And he does it all so that we can afford to live in our apartment and pay the rest of the bills. And he has this awesome desire to learn more and is always trying to be a better musician, friend, man, and husband. I love him for that and couldn't be more proud.

2. This weekend I will visit downtown Leonardtown for their First Friday celebration and spend some time with a much missed friend. I will attend my company's picnic tomorrow afternoon and we're going to have fun!

3. A secret dream I have is to sing the National Anthem at a Superbowl.

4. I can't handle the smell of oranges. It makes me gag.

5. The most annoying thing in the entire world is inconsiderate people. Take our upstairs neighbors for example, they're currently playing their music so loud that it's shaking their floor/our ceiling. And I can hear that they're listening to The Jefferson's theme song...

6. The most relaxing thing in the entire world is laying on the couch snuggling with Collin while he rubs/scratches my back.

7. I think everyone should be nice. It would make the world a much better place, don't you agree?

I hope you guys have great weekends! I hope it's full of fun and yet relaxing, too if that's what you need! See you all next week!!

The Weekend's Almost Here...

This past weekend was a lot of fun! We had lots of fun things planned but we also had some good downtime which was nice! As I said on Tuesday we spent time with friends, family and just the two of us!

The pile of clothes I still have to hang up. My least favorite part. =/

I had lots of laundry to do. Because we were at VBS every night all week my laundry took a back burner. This was my pile of hang up clothes that I needed to put away.
The big and small hands participating in VBS this week. So blessed to be a part of this week!
All the children in the intro session!
18 children in our group tonight!! Amazing! We have about 50 kids total!

Vacation Bible School was so much fun! We had a great group of children! And we had a carnival theme. So there were fun games and a bouncy house for the kids to play in at the end of the evening during carnival time! One night during craft time all the kids and helpers put their hand prints on the fabric as a memento of the week. Our group grew each night! Collin and I were the leaders of the oldest kids, 7-10. We had 12 our first night. On our last night we had 18! And our group kept growing each night. It was awesome!
There's a storm a-comin'!!
Collin being goofy after dinner!

After Bible School was over on Friday evening Collin and I went to dinner at Ruby Tuesday's for date night! The sky looked pretty ominous as we were driving to the restaurant. Fortunately it only rained while we were inside and was finished by the time we were done! And on the way home my husband was so silly listening to music. He cracks me up!
The sky is spectacular today.
Almost bought these fantastic sunglasses from Target today. =p
These are the sunglasses I actually bought.
Waiting to see the Wizard!

The weather on Saturday was gorgeous! The sky looked so cool and it was mild temperatured! I loved it! In the morning Megan and I went shopping and ran some errands. We both tried on some ridiculous glasses (first picture) and then I actually bought a new pair (second picture) because my old ones were kinda biting the dust! Later that evening Collin and I went with my parents to see our Summerstock's production of The Wizard of Oz and it was fantastic! I think it was one of the best plays I've seen from the Summerstock group. The music was fabulous and the acting was great, too! And the actors all had such great chemistry. It was wonderful! We had a delightful evening!
Our new quilt! I love it!
On Sunday I finally got to put my new quilt on the bed. I love it!! It's so pretty and it makes me happy to have a nice feminine bedding set. The one before was Collin's from before we got married and it was a plain blue quilt with red on the other side and as the trim and I hated it! Sunday after church we got to have lunch with our friends Jeff and Jeannie and that was so delightful! We had a great time with them. And then in the evening Collin and I drove up to Lanham, MD to attend a Love Worth Fighting For marriage conference featuring Kirk Cameron and Warren Barfield. It was incredible! We had the best time and it totally rejuvenated our love for each other. And it was so invigorating to be able to go and learn Biblical truths about marriage and how to protect and fireproof our marriage. We are so, so glad we went to the conference. If you ever get the chance (or if they're in your area) I HIGHLY recommend you attend the conference. You will NOT be disappointed.

So yes, we had a wonderful weekend! Now onto this weekend! It should be fun, too! Not much planned except for my company's picnic but we'll have fun nevertheless. I hope you enjoy your weekend!
